Nancy Doane is an inspirational local color pencil and watercolor artist, specializing in botanical illustration. Nancy is a member of The Colored Pencil Society of America and The Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators. She has taught a botanical illustration class at the Fleisher Art Memorial and has experience teaching art classes in a variety of venues. She is now offering art classes in her Downingtown home studio. Nancy's work has been accepted into several juried art shows including the International Philadelphia Flower Show for many years. Her work is also displayed in local business offices.
Art Class Offerings
Nancy Doane offers botanical drawing and botanical illustration classes in both colored pencil and watercolor at her home. Classes are offered throughout the year for all levels.
CLASS OPTIONS:
BOTANICAL ILLUSTRATION
This class is a two-hour session 10 a.m. – 12 noon weekly and is a thorough introduction to botanical illustration. You will develop observation and sketching skills and have a greater understanding of colors, the color chart, color mixing and painting techniques. You will be inspired and challenged and given the knowledge needed to love and enjoy botanical illustration. Supplies not included.
SUMMER ART CLASSES 2012
Tuesday 10 a.m.-12 noon
For ages 8 to 18
This class is a two-hour weekly session in which students choose a project to complete over the summer. Project can be in either watercolor or colored pencil. Students will receive personal instruction for their project. Cost is $20 per week, pay as you go.
Tuesday 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
Adult Class
This class is a two-hour weekly session in which you bring a painting (watercolor or colored pencil) that you are working on and I will give personal and class mini demos and suggestions as you work. Cost is $20 per week, pay as you go.
